AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Iraqi army forces identified and arrested seven elements of IS Takfiri on Monday during a major operation in Saladin province.
The series of counter-terrorist actions of the Iraqi army is still continuing in different parts of the country. Iraqi army troops targeted Takfiri positions in Saladin province on Monday, ALFORAT News reported.
According to the report, security sources said the Iraqi armed forces managed to identify and arrest seven wanted takfiri terrorists in Saladin province.
It was then that one of the commanders of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Unit (PMU), also known as Hashd al-Sha’abi, announced the start of a large-scale operation by the group of the Resistance in parts of Diyala province.
The main objective of the operation is to cleanse Diyala Province of remnants of ISIS takfirists, he said.
The attack by Hashd al-Sha’abi forces came as IS Takfiri terrorists invaded on Friday and killed 11 Iraqi military forces in Saladin province.
Although the Iraqi government announced the liberation of all occupied areas from ISIS terrorists in December 2017, ISIS remnants have been hiding in small parts of the country, mainly in the provinces of Diyala, Al -Anbar, Saladin and Nineveh. From time to time, they carry out terrorist operations against the military and civilians.
